It takes vision for a house to learn another language, which is exactly what happened in the historic Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles  when a resourceful couple took a detour from the norm. “We found an aging, old Spanish house in our neighborhood, and we decided to reimagine a French provincial home. By the time we were done, we had taken it down to the studs and gutted it—doors, windows, everything,” says architect William Hefner with Studio William Hefner in Los Angeles, which provides architecture, interior design, and landscaping services.
